Yule's Son

They started out just wanting to train to be like the warriors of their people - brave, strong, and capable. What they got was more than they bargained for. Brandr, Ulfr, and Sigrid must overcome their differences and their secrets from each other if they have any chance at savings their families and friends from a mysterious sickness ravaging their village.

Their warriors are gone for the summer raids. Their medicine woman has disappeared. Their families are sick. There's no one left to turn to but the gods.
​
They must find Lyfjaberg - the healing mountain of the goddess Eir. But they've never ventured beyond the safety of their village before, and they're on borrowed time.
​
But the gods don't choose just anyone to save their people.
Liar's Price
The village carries on in the wake of the actions of three young heroes, almost back to normal. That is, for everyone except Brandr, Ulfr, and Sigrid. They've gone from being heroes of their village to being just kids again. Changes have been made for them, and maybe not for the better. Brandr needs a mentor, Ulfr needs a purpose, and Sigrid needs the gods.

Each of them carries a secret (or two or three) that they can't share even with their closest friends. Secrets that will push them to make dangerous choices.
Worse than that, they're not the only ones keeping secrets. Some secrets are heavier than others, and depending on what gets revealed, the rest of the village might be dragged down with them.
​
A liar's price must always be paid.

There are some things that children shouldn't have to do, even child heroes like Brandr, Ulfr, and Sigrid. The worst should be over and done with, but they just can't shake the weight of what happened on Yule.
​
The Norns are weaving their strands of fate in weird and wonderful ways. Brandr needs a new mentor. Ulfr needs to hone his craft. Sigrid's father has unspoken plans for her. Everything that's happened has pointed them toward something new - Midsummer Blot - in far away Uppsala.
​
But for all of them, Midsummer's Blot might reveal more than they want and change the path of their lives forever. They've been through so much together, and this might be the last they see of each other. They can only pray the Norns will be kind with their fates.
